How can I convince my friend not to de-claw her kittens when they are older?

I think de-clawing cats is wrong. My friend recently got 3 kittens, and they are not old enough to be de-clawed but she has said that she is going to de-claw them because she is worried they will cut her to ribbons if they have claws. I really want to convince her to not de-claw them, can someone give me some tips on things that might help convince her to not de-claw them but still control their claws? She doesn't believe me that you can clip them, even though we clip our Ocicats nails regularly.
