How to know a pesticide when you see one?

a pesticide is any chemical make up that kills or repels various pests...insecticides (for insects)..rodenticiides (for rodents)..herbicides (for weeds)..fungicides (for mold) are all pesticides.. if you pour salt on a slug you are using a pesticide..if you use off mosquito repellent such as OFF you are using a pesticide...if you are using mint oil in your cabinets to repel bugs you are using a pesticide....if you spray Lysol in a hamper to kill mold, you are using a pesticide.
