!SPOILER ALERT! Anyone else think the bullet angle was off for Professor X in X-Men: First Class?

After watching the movie five times, the bullet being deflected from Magneto can only enter the Professors body through the side. However, there is no evidence of this and it is treated as though he was shot directly in his spinal column. Has anyone else noticed this mistake?
