How can I avoid bringing bugs into new apartment?

A few months ago I discovered a roach problem in my bathroom (after new management company discontinued pest control) and had the place fumigated. Didn't see any for months anywhere, but the past week they seem to be back again. Thankfully my lease is just about up so I'll be moving very soon. However, I do NOT want to accidentally bring them to my new place when I move my stuff. How can I avoid doing so? The problem seems to be confined to the bathroom and all we're moving from there is a fabric shower curtain and toiletries.
