Lawn mowing pest advice?

So i have to mow the lawn but I can't stand the bugs, i try to swat at them but its hard to drive a straight line while swatting at bugs with one hand and steering with the other...does anyone have any types for getting them away...besides bug spray cuz it doesn't work...ps i am a 14 year old girl so i have reasons not to like bugs in my face
