Some of my ladybugs are super active, others are just sitting around...?

Last night I released ladybugs on my potted plants to eat some pests that have been damaging my flowers. On one flower pot they're super active, crawling all over the place. On another, they're just sitting and I can see tons of the pests I want them to control. I don't know what the pest is, but they were eating them last night. What's going on with them? Full? Laying eggs? Maybe they're hot? Also, I watered the pots last night before releasing them to give them a drink, should I keep constant sprinkles of water on the flowers or will they be okay for a bit?
